History

Strawberry Stitch Co. was founded in 1992 by Thomas L. Moore, Jr. in west county St. Louis Missouri as an embroidery design firm that would set the standard of excellence in quality, customer service, training and expert consulting services. Four years later Thomas received the "Best Digitizer Award" at the Monogram and Embroidery Trade Show. This was the first indication Strawberry Stitch Co. was on the road to national attention.

Owner, and now Master Embroidery Designer, Thomas L. Moore, Jr. was chosen as a "Digitizer of Distinction" by Impressions Magazine in September 1999. This is an honor reserved for those who set the standard for excellence in the field of embroidery digitizing. In this same year Thomas published his first book, Digitizing 101, further placing Strawberry Stitch Company's mark on the industry as one that possesses a high level of knowledge and sets the standard for others in the field.

From 2002 through 2006 SSC exploded under the direction of Thomas Moore as more than a company who designs world class embroidery, but one which creates unique decorated apparel across many decoration processes, and one that embraces the future technology will play in a global market. While continuing his studies of embroidery design and moving all SSC curriculum to an internet based instructional platform, Thomas has evolved as a decorated apparel industry consultant working with such manufacturers as Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Cabelas, Bass Pro,Vanity Fair, North Face, Chambers Bedding, Eddie Bauer, LandsEnd, Radio Cap, Staples-American Identity, Bic-Norword, and Real Polo.

In 2010, Stitches Magazine placed Thomas 36th on a list of the 56 most powerful and influential people in today's decorated apparel industry. This list connects Thomas with other influential persons such as Anna Wintour - Editor of Vogue, Hitoshi Tajima, Martin Kristiaman - Wilcom International Pty Ltd., Marty Lott - San Mar, Dean F. Shulman - Brother International Corp., Ira Nearman - Vantage Apparel, Francois Lesage - House of Lesage, Zahoor Kareem - Cafe Press, Dov Charney - American Apparel, Mark Lange Ph.d. - National Cotton Council of America, Christopher Bernat - Vapor Apparel and Nick Coe - Land's End. During the period of 2010 through 2011, Thomas leveraged his 45 plus industry awards to expand Strawberry Stitch Co. to include retail sales and the Tees 4 Tuition program, a college level sales initiative.

In 2015 Thomas will release his second book Digitizing 201. This new publication will once again provide direction to the global decorated apparel business providing standards to manufactures of clothing lines that include decoration.
